Round-Trip Parking Guide

Freedom from parking hassles is one of the big advantages of carsharing. There’s no need to pay for monthly parking, and it’s one more way that carsharing saves you money, since parking is included when you use a Communauto Atlantic vehicle!

With a round-trip vehicle you always return the car to the same station you picked the car up from. Stations are marked as solid green on the map. But you can take advantage of these great perks during your trip.

For information specific to FLEX trips see the FLEX Parking Guide.

On street

All cars have parking permits so you can park on street during your trip where signage allows it. Our parking permits work in all Halifax parking permit zones.

Good Signs

All Communauto Atlantic cars are permitted to park at these signs.

The specific times on the signs may vary, but in general you can park at 1-hour, 2-hour, and permit only spots.

NEW: You can now release FLEX cars in paid parking zones! But be careful to watch for other signs that could change the parking rules.

Caution Signs

Avoid spots where street cleaning will be happening while you are parked. Usually the other side of the street is OK! And remember – street cleaning starts after midnight, so check the time carefully.

Avoid timed no parking, no stopping, and tow-away signs.

Partner lots

Thanks to our partners at Alderney Landing and Scotia Square Mall Communauto cars can park for free.

Alderney Landing: No pay and display needed, just park in any pay and display space for free. This lot is indicated as part of the FLEX zone on our map.

Scotia Square: Use the provided Crombie parking pass on the “Monthly Parking” scanner when entering and exiting the lot.
